When designing an invitation or card always choose the envelope size first.
Its much easier and less costly to utilize standard sizes. The enclosure size should be Ό
smaller in height and in width than the envelope. If your invitation or card
is unusually thick or has large embellishments it should be downsized accordingly.
Always make a test sample of the insert(s) and envelope to allow for any
necessary adjustments before beginning full production. And
remember to visit your local postal outlet to determine the correct amount of postage. Size, thickness, shape and weight all affect postage costs.
Announcement
(also called A-style) envelopes
are
a contemporary style ideal for invitations, announcements, greeting
cards, small booklets and promotional pieces. Some utilize
side seam construction and have square flaps - others have diagonal
seam construction with EuroFlap styling.
Square envelopes attract attention due to their unusual shape and
are also great for invitations, announcements and promotional
pieces. They can incorporate square flap or EuroFlap styling.
Because they are nonstandard, square envelopes require additional
postage.
